Celtic Connections 2003 Anna will be performing at the opening night of CC 2003 in the main auditorium of the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, as part of the Scottish Women concert. Futher detail are at the Celtic Connections web site Russia I have just come back form playing at the St Andrews ball in Moscow, as well as the eight gigs I also made several TV appearances and visited a school. I am looking forwards to going to Russia again. Homers As the musical director, I wrote and produced the music for the IF Macleod's play Homers which was staged at the Traverse Theatre in Edinbugh and went on a Highland tour. It was a great chance to work with Quee MacArthur from Shooglenifty and the music was well received. Something worth listening to is the new album released by Glasgow University. I have written and performed a song for the album. Have you checked out my latest album? The album is called Tri Nithean:Three Things. Click here for more details I have also been part of two other recently released albums - The first one is the Gaelic women album. This album was recorded on the Greentrax record label and it features most of the top Gaelic women singers. I was lucky enough to be asked to sing on two tracks "Am Bruadar Ud a' Chunna Mi" and "Canan Nan Gaidheal". We then did a live performance at Celtic Connections in Glasgow which heralded great reviews. This lead to a Highland tour with the Gaelic women and the Scots women performing together. There is talk of further tours and the concert will be opening Celtic Connections in 2003. The second one was the Ceol Tasci Album. I sang on the final track 'Oran Chaluim Sgaire'. This album is released on Vertical Records and it is one of the albums which is close to my cd player at the moment with some wonderful piping (as usual) from Micheal McGoldrick. They are showing, again, Dotaman the Gaelic childrens programme for the BBC in Scotland which I co-present with Donnie. Anna E-mail: Anna |
